Martin Dury

Head of Future Skills at MTC

The Manufacturing Technology Centre’s Head of Future Skills is responsible for disrupting / pump-priming the UK’s strategically important, yet underserved roles in manufacturing as part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult strategy.

The MTC Future Skill’s department approach this challenge by implementation of the ‘Skills Value Chain’ as detailed in the Gatsby report ‘Manufacturing the Future Workforce’.

Martin leads a team of Future Skills Advisors, who identify future workforce capability requirements and recommend new competency frameworks, curricula and academic standards to address any gaps

He also leads a team of Instructional Designers, who design and produce the technical delivery content for these future requirements. This team also enable UK training providers to deliver the new content via ‘train-the-trainer’ events and the supporting of any pilot activity.

 Martin is a learning and development expert with over 30 years’ experience in the automotive sector.

His experience includes programme design, management, and the delivery of technical and non-technical training plus apprenticeships for customers such as Volkswagen Group, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda, Volvo and Bentley Motors.

In addition to the UK activity, Martin’s experience includes implementing these programmes in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
